Agadir is a city on the South Atlantic coast of Morocco and is one of the most modern cities in Morocco. It’s a quickly developing city with an expansion in population. The secluded beaches and luxury hotels are making from Agadir the second tourist destination in Morocco after the red city Marrakech. Unfortunately, a terrible earthquake destroyed the city on February 29, 1960 in a few minutes and it has been rebuilt in the sixties of the last century to a modern city. The principle fascination of Agadir is the fabulous shoreline with its 6 km fine sand where you can securely swim, surf or rent a watercraft and you can also take rides on a camel along the beach. On a hilltop of 236m height near the ancient Kasbah, you have a brilliant view over the city and harbor.
If you happen to visit Agadir with your family, make sure you plan the Vallée des Oiseaux in your tour schedule. This fascinating tourist site is one of the best highlights of Agadir.
