Tour from Ouarzazate to M’Hamid. M’Hamid is a Sahara Desert township in the province of Zagora in Morocco. M’Hamid is one of the best places in Morocco to travel to.

On these 2 days you will be able to visit the Sahara Desert from Ouarzazate if it happens to happen that you are in Ouarzazate and you don’t have a lot of days to go Erg Chebbi which is more famous than Erg Lihoudi. On the first day you enjoy amazing views over the mountains of Ait Saoun and the sunset on one of the highest dunes of Erg Lihoudi. Next day you will drive through the valley of the Draa and see some old Kasbhas as well as the Koranic library in Tamgrout.

 

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Mhamid

Depart from Ouarzazate at early morning towards the mountains of Ait Saoun. In the  valley of the Draa you will have a short pause, before we continue our tour. On the way to Zagora we pass a through a beautiful valley full of palmtrees. Once we arrive in Zagora, you will have lunch in one of the locals restaurants. After midday we drive to M’Hamid to enjoy the sunset on the top of the dunes. Overnight in the desert camp in Erg Lihoudi.

Day 2: Mhamid –  Ouarzazate

After enjoying the sunrise in the Sahara Desert you will have breakfast, than we drive to Tamegroute where you will visit the old Zaouia and admire all kind of pottery. Afterwards we visit the old  Koranic library. We continue our journey through the Draa Valley towards Agdz. After lunch in the Berber village of Agdz  we drive back to Ouarzazate.
