Mount Toubkal is a mountain peak in southwestern Morocco. The peak is about 4,167 meters above sea level. As one of the highest peak in Africa, Mount Toubkal offers a great challenge and amazing views for all travelers from around the world. This mountain is located near Marrakech and can be reached by 3 days trip in order experience all attractions there.
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Aremd & the Mizane Valley -Toubkal Refuge
All the visitors will be picked up from their hotel and head toward Toubkal Massif which surrounded by high and rough rocks peaks and steep valleys. Then, we will start to climb towards the foothills of the Massif when passing through a tiny town named Asni. On our way to Imlil village, we will be able to see Oued Rhirhaia valley below us where we will be the spot to leave our vehicle. The journey will be continued by trekking to the village of Aremd and Sidi Chamarouch shrine with guidance from the guide. Being the largest village there, Aremd offers unique scenery of traditional and modern in terraced farming, streets, and gites. You can see many cattle and goats surrounding the areas. Going to the east, we will cross the river until reaching Sidi Chamarouch shrine which is a famous tourist spot there. Finally, the trek will be finished when arriving at the Toubkal Refuge for a night stay.
Day 2: Jebel Toubkal summit -Toubkal Refuge
The route in day 2 trip will be begun from Toubkal Refuge to Jebel Toubkal peak which is considered as the highest peak in Northern Africa. Through the trip, we will be able to see wonderful views of the mountain. After reaching the plateau, it only takes a short time walking until we arrive at the summit. There we can see the beautiful scenery of many famous places in Morocco like Marrakesh Plain, the High Atlas, and the Sahara. After that, we will go back to the Toubkal Refuge. The break time will be in Imlil village which will be passed in our tour. The overall journey on day 2 trip takes about 5 to 6 hours walking.
Day 3: Aremd & the Mizane Valley –Imlil Village- Marrakech
Go back to Imlil village once again, the visitors and the guide pass through Aremd village and the Mizane Valley. When arriving at Imlil village, we will use the car to go to Marrakech. Although 2 days Toubkal trip which allows also be offered the visitors to go back directly to Imlil village, many visitors prefer to choose the 3 days trip route. With this route, the trip will not be too hard for the visitors and they, of course, will be able to get extra time in the traditional Berber tent. The 3days trip provides more leisure time for all the participants to enjoy the scenery, take some pictures, rest and learn more about the culture and local people. The last day trip will take about 5 or 6 hours walking.
