How can I plan a three-day tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga that accommodates my family's needs? We plan to leave on the 8th of April and return on the 10th of April and would like to stay at the Riad Yasmine in Marrakech. We need to be dropped off at the bus station no later than 7:00 PM on the last day as we have a bus to catch to Taghazout at 8:00 PM. We're looking for a standard family room in riad Lamane in Amezrou, Zagora, and a private tent at the camp, even if the bathroom is shared. Can you please provide a detailed itinerary for our trip, including all relevant information?

We can confirm that we are available for the dates you requested, from April 8 to April 10. We will arrange for your pick-up from Riad Yasmine in Marrakech, and drop you off at the bus station in Marrakech by 07.00 latest, in time for your onward journey to Taghazout at 08.00.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga to Taznakht and Marrakech

Later, you'll embark on a peaceful and fascinating wilderness drive from Erg Chegaga, taking in the mesmerizing views of sand dunes. After a long off-road drive, you'll reach the paved road and drive through the quiet and sleepy Berber town of Foum-Zguid. Your next stop is Taznakht, a former trading post known for being one of the largest centers for carpets in Morocco. After exploring the village, you'll continue on a 90 km drive, passing through serene oases and charming Berber villages, until you reach the junction between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. Finally, you'll cross the highest north-African mountains and return to Marrakech in the evening, where your tour ends.

This route includes numerous stops and activities suitable for families with children, such as a tour of Ait Benhaddou, a visit to a pottery workshop, a camel ride or sandboarding in the desert, and scenic drives through the Draat Valley and the Atlas Mountains
Day 1: Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate and Zagora
Your driver/guide will collect you from your hotel or riad in Marrakech early in the morning and drive south towards the Atlas Mountains. You pass the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260 m) and enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains and valleys. You will stop in Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a tour of the kasbah and lunch. In the afternoon, continue the journey towards Ouarzazate and then Zagora, where you will have dinner and overnight in a traditional riad in Amzerou.
Day 2: Zagora to M'Hamid and Erg Chigaga
After breakfast, head towards M'hamid, the gateway to the Sahara desert. You will stop in Tamgroute to visit a potter's cooperative and the famous Zaouia Naciria, a 17th-century religious library. You will continue your journey to Erg Chigaga, one of the largest wild sand dunes in Morocco. You will have lunch in the desert and enjoy a camel ride or sandboarding. In the evening you dine under the starry sky and spend the night in a nomad tent in the desert.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga to Taznacht and Marrakech
After breakfast, you will go back to Marrakech. You will pass through the Draa Valley, the longest river valley in Morocco, and stop in Ouarzazate for lunch. You continue your journey through the Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. .
