We will be in Marrakech from March 03, 2023, and looking for a lovely trip from Marrakech to Fez in about 5/6 days. Does anyone here have a 5-day itinerary from Marrakech to Fes?

Our tour from Marrakesh to Fez via the desert includes a camel ride and an overnight stay in a chic camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a short trek in the Dades Gorge, and much more. You will also have enough time to visit the Dades Valley, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and the Todgha Gorge. A tour lasts 6 days, that way you can enjoy the attractions along the way without rushing to catch the sunset in beautiful places.

In Ouarzazate, you will visit the UNESCO site Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is known for famous movies that have been filmed here.

Our driver/guide is at your service and will be more than happy to stop in any location you prefer to take photos or for a visit.

Itinerary:

Marrakech - Ait benhadou - Ouarzazate > 200km

Our journey starts in the morning from Marrakesh and drives through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka (2260m) to reach the village of Ait Benhaddou, the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural backdrop for many famous movies you may have already seen. lunch will be at a local restaurant with a beautiful view of Ait ben Haddou village. In Ouarzazate we visit the beautiful cinema studios and kasbah Touarirt. You will spend the night in Riad dar Chamaa where you can enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner.

Ouarzazate - Dades Gorge >​ 160km

After a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, we drive to Skour to visit the Kasbah Amridil, a great place for photos. We will have lunch on the way to Boutghrar Valley and enjoy the beauty of Rose Valley. Later we continue along the road of thousands of Kasbahs to the colorful Berber villages. Then we go off-road for 15 km to visit some nomadic people who live in the caves between Gorges.

Dades Gorge - Merzouga > 250 km

After breakfast, our day trip to Tenerhir starts with the beautiful palm garden. We continue to the Todgha Gorges where we wind through canyons about 300 meters high, a favorite spot for rock climbers. Then we head to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga desert. On the way you will have lunch in a local restaurant in Rissani or before the town of Erfoud. In the afternoon we ride camels to see the sunset over the dunes. At the desert camp, you will be welcomed with traditional and delicious mint tea and listen to traditional Berber music by the campfire under the amazing blue starry sky and moon rising in the middle of the beautiful desert dunes.

Merzouga Dunes - Gnawa Village

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy a beautiful sunrise on the tops of the dunes near your overnight accommodation. After breakfast you will make the trip through the dunes by 4×4 where you have the opportunity to visit nomadic peoples. Then you will do a small part of the Paris Dakar Rally to visit the village of Khamliya, home of the blacks of sub-Saharan origin to enjoy their dance and Gnawa music. Later you will visit the lake with the pink flamingos in the full black desert. Lunch will be at Khamlia village and in the afternoon we will ride the camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a posh accommodation.

Merzouga - Errachidia - Midelt > 260 km

After breakfast our journey begins. You will then travel further north and through the town of Errachidia, located on the eastern edge of the High Atlas Mountains. Here you will notice the changing landscape as you leave the Sahara and travel towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. Today's journey takes you through the breathtaking Ziz Gorge, a deep river valley filled with palm groves that winds its way through the mountains until you reach Midelt.

Midelt - Ifran - Fez > 190 km

After breakfast, our trek begins with the crossing of Azrou, where you can spot Barbary macaques in the Cedar Forest.​We continue to Ifrane, the modern city was founded by the French administration during the time of the protectorate that took place in the region where the city is located.Here you can admire the changing landscape and culture. Driving through the cedar forests near of Ifrane, a charming ski resort and center specializing in handicrafts made from cedar wood. Later continue our journey to drop you off in Fez.

The tours we currently run are private, so you will travel alone with a guide/driver in a comfortable, air-conditioned 4WD vehicle. We offer you luxury accommodation on a half board basis, including an excellent desert camp. For lunch, you have to choose the restaurant yourself, otherwise it is the restaurant where we stop regularly, lunch is not included in our tour price. Our guides speak English and French.

All our vehicles are equipped with all the necessary equipment and are free from any technical problems. Fully checked before embarking on a journey.
