Morocco Travel QuestionsShould I spend more time in Marrakech or Fez?
Lionar asked 1 year ago

Travelers who want to visit Fez add a visit to Chefchaouen and usually plan an 8 to 10-day trip that also includes Marrakech, Merzouga, and Ouarzazate. Which city do you personally choose to spend more time in Marrakech or Fez?

Both of them have some differences and it is difficult to say which one is better to explore in depth.

Should I spend more time in Marrakech or Fez?

In my opinion, Morocco is a fantastic country to travel to and each city has its own charm, but if I have to spend more days on a Moroccan trip, I will visit all the highlights of southern Morocco that are more spectacular than northern Morocco. Spending more than a day in Fez and Marrakech is worth it. Fez seems to be a less stressful city than Marrakesh, as it has the largest car-free area in the country. You should also not miss the surroundings of Marrakesh, such as the Ourika valley and the Agafy desert.

Marrakech is a beautiful city to explore and the medina of Fez is also interesting. Both are incomparable! Perhaps on the first visit you can discover the must-see sights and on the last day you can take a traditional Moroccan bath and relax.
