The history of Kasbah Oudayas dates back to the 12th century when the Almohads built it as a fortress to defend against invaders. Over time, the Kasbah of the Udayas changed heaps! From a fortress, it developed into this lively neighborhood that tells the story of Morocco in its architecture. What's fascinating is how different rulers shaped it's look! You've got the Andalusians and the Marinids, each adding their special flair to this spot. It's like walking through history and seeing these different styles all mixed in one place! The Andalusians' influence gives it this hint of their own style, while the Merinids who ruled today's Morocco from the mid-13th to the 15th century, also left their architectural legacy behind.
