Are there any deserts in Europe?

Europe doesn't have many deserts, but there are some sandy areas where you can find some small sand dunes. Some dry areas can be found in Italy, Romania and Scandinavia. But there is only one true sand and rock desert: Cabo de Gata in Almeria, the southeastern corner of Spain, where annual rainfall is just 200mm - the lowest in Europe.
